  • About | Artist Blacksmith | Simply Forged

Simply Forged Studio | David Graham Artist Blacksmith and Sculptor About Me. David Graham Artist Blacksmith | Sculptor My unique practice explores the potential of contemporary blacksmithing. My work evaluate and extend the possibilities of forging hot steel in a constant attempt to shift objects from a purely utilitarian beginning to a wholly reimagined future state. Inspired by the natural world, particularly the sea and the bush, my art reflects the dynamic energy of the environments I love. As a passionate surfer, the ever-changing faces of the sea infuse my creations with their fluidity and force. The organic contours of nature are echoed in the sinuous lines and robust textures of my work. With 25+ years of practice, my role as a resident artist at Ashmore Arts for the last few years has allowed me to collaborate on various commissions, enriching my practice and expanding the scope of my craft.
